Music is the food of the soul, but the food that keeps body and soul together is an art unto itself. Paisley Park Kitchen invites you to enjoy a selection of Prince’s favorite foods, brought to you by Ray Roberts, former personal chef to the musician, and his wife Juell Roberts.

Grilled Pesto Caprese Sandwich

Prince loved the brightness of this walnut pesto, and it has made its way into a lot of different dishes, like this savory sandwich. Ciabatta bread with layers of fresh tomatoes, basil walnut pesto, mozzarella, and balsamic drizzle. Served with crunchy kettle chips.

Mornay Mac & Cheese

Made with intensely creamy mornay sauce and topped with bread crumbs. Prince loved mac & cheese in it's many forms—as the story goes, he was once enjoying some at a SNL after-party when cast member Fred Armisen approached him. After Fred raved about how great Prince was, the artist reportedly deadpanned, “You know what I think is great? This mac & cheese.” And went back to eating it.

Yellow Curry gf, v

Prince loved his curries and his chickpeas. He’d often have this yellow curry with cauliflower, potatoes and chickpeas, served with brown rice.

Minnesota Grilled Cheese

By popular demand, we have created a grilled cheese sandwich inspired by some of Prince’s favorites. Savory brie and smoked gouda are grilled on ciabatta bread with honey (which Prince especially loved) and apples.

Roasted Corn on Pizza

This was Prince’s favorite pizza. He would request it often, and loved showing off this tasty pizza to his friends. Made with poblano peppers, cheddar cheese and Aleppo chilis.

Summer Salad gf, v

Salads were a part of Prince’s daily menu—he loved food that was “alive” like he was. This one contains Bibb lettuce with watermelon, cucumbers, red onions, parsley, pistachio and a honey lime vinaigrette.

PRN Sampling Plate

Enjoy a sampling of Prince’s favorite foods: Grilled Pesto Caprese Sandwich, Summer Salad & Cowgirl Cookies.

Hot and fluffy pancakes topped with strawberries, drizzled chocolate and powdered sugar. Served with 100% pure maple syrup. Prince loved pancakes at any hour of the day—once he called at 2 a.m. saying, “Ray, I think it would be funny if you made pancakes for the Lynx.” He was, of course, referring to another of his great faves, the Minnesota Lynx.

Strawberry Chia Watermelon Smoothie gf, v

Some of Prince’s favorite snacks were smoothies—he loved watching movies while sipping on one. This smoothie uses fresh watermelon, strawberries, bananas, nut milk, limes and chia seeds.

Cowgirl Minis

Small cookies made with rolled oats, coconut, and white and dark chocolate. We made these many times for Prince’s late-night parties, including for his final party, where he showed off the new guitar that had just been made for him.

Chocolate Mousse Cake

This is a version of Prince’s favorite cake. He loved his sweets, but chocolate mousse cake was his JAM. He loved this cake so much that occasionally I would save him an extra slice for later in the night.

Vegan Rice Crispy Bar gf, v

Prince often had this stocked in his fridge for a late-night treat.

Lemon Cream Cake

Rarely would Prince turn away a dessert. This simple lemon cream cake was one he loved.
